I have been friends with the same group of girls since I was in elementary school – 30+ years of friendship. We have been through it all – first loves, first breakups, marriage, and family. Just like marriage, friendship, in my opinion, is something you have to continue to work on. A good friendship is one where you start where you left off, and fortunately for me that is what I have with my besties. We never bring drama in, and we have made it a commitment to get together once a month. If some of us cant make it we still keep our plans. I think once you begin to cancel everytime someone has a prior engagement you will never meet up.
We began a holiday tradition about 5 years ago where we would book a fancy dinner and do a yankee swap. Each year the gifts keep getting better and better but this year my bestie Georgia (yes I have a friend named Georgia, in fact I have two) got the best gift. It was a cup with all our names on it that read “Sisters for Life”. I was lucky enough to pick #1 out of the hat and of course when it was my turn to choose a gift again I had to have it. Sorry Lucy!
Basically what I am trying to say is that if you have a group of friends that have been in your life for 5, 10, 20 or 30 years you are blessed. Dont give up so fast. Put the effort in, because that extended family is so hard to find. I love my girls and I want them to know how much I love and value their friendship.
Enough with the sappiness, and lets talk outfit. Of course I had to bring my inner JLo out. I have been searching for a fur vest for a while. You know how it is – you find one and the fur looks like a wet dog, or its shedding all over the place. When I found one on Amazon I said to myself why not get it, and worst case you return it. It has 4 star rating, and the majority of the ladies loved it. I sized up to an XL because I read that it ran small. When the package came I was super excited and when I took it out I knew I struck gold! Ladies you need this in your closet. Its under $40, and I really believe it will glam up any outfit.
