I am not one to be easily influenced when it comes to products. I would have to see multiple reviews on something before I try it. When I saw my favorite bloggers giving great reviews on the Tula products, I took a chance and tried them and I am so happy. So, when I saw multiple bloggers raving about the Billie razor subscription – I had to try it.
What was funny was that when I posted that I was going to do a review on Billie many people messaged me that they have been using Billie for a year. One, that made me happy to see that people I knew used it, but on the flip side sad that no one told me earlier…lol.
Now, to be honest with you I have been using Venus for over 20 years. I have tried other razors such as Flamingo from Target, and I just kept going back to Venus. I could never find something that gave me the close shave I needed like the Venus razors did until I tried Billie – sorry Venus! ☹
Let’s talk about Billie as a company. Have you ladies heard of the “Pink Tax”? That my friends, is the extra amount we are being charged for certain products and services. That can be applied to fashion, dry cleaning, and to personal care – such as razors. That is why you see razors like Venus cost you $22.00! The starter kit for Billie is only $9.00 (free shipping) and that will be the price going forward for the refills. Each Billie razor has 5 blades, and around the blade is a charcoal shave soap to give you that smooth shave. There are no toxins or bad additives on any of the products they sell and they never test on animals. Also, Billie donates 1% of all revenue to a women’s causes around the world. These are all things I love to hear when it comes to the products I use.
Purchasing the Billie razors was so easy. You go to the website and fill out a quick survey answering questions like:
1. What color handle do you like (I chose Dream Pop)?
2. How often do you shave (every day, every other day, or once a week)? Side note on this who has the time to shave every day?!?!
3. Do you want to add additional items (shave cream, travel case, or body lotion)?
Based off your answer to question #2 they will send you 4 refills for $9 every month, every 2 months or every 3 months.
As you remember from my unpackaging everything was wrapped so nice. The razor comes with one blade already on, and an extra one for when you need to change it. Changing it looked very simple too. It comes with a cute magnetic holder which you can attach to your bathroom wall which will keep the razor in place.
When I ordered my subscription, I also ordered the shave cream ($12), and the travel case ($5). The shave cream is not like your man’s shave cream. It feels like a thicker lotion rather than the messy cream. It’s also so moisturizing too. You can order it one time and don’t have to add it to your subscription every time. I honestly think it will last me a while, and I may order it with every 2nd or 3rd shipping. I think the travel case is essential to protect the razor – and just keeps it safe when you travel.
Now, lets talk shave! The way I determine if a razor is good is when I shave my armpits (LOL) – I know it’s really weird but for me that is the hardest spot to shave. When I used it for the first time on my arm pits it just glided over so smoothly and my skin felt so soft. That charcoal shave soap definitely did the job. To be honest, it was an even a closer shave than Venus. I got the same close shave experience on my legs too.
In general, I am very happy that I tried Billie, and I am recommending that you give it a try too.
I love the convenience of receiving the refills in the mail.
I love the fact that I will be paying $9 every two months rather than $22.
I love that they give me a close shave that is not irritating to my skin.
I love that they donate 1% of revenue to woman’s causes.
I love that their products are free of toxins.
Drop me a note and let me know what you think.
